La Paloma Mexican Food sits tucked into a modest strip mall in Indio, offering a straightforward spot for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors without the fuss of upscale dining. This is a no-frills restaurant that serves hearty portions and a mix of traditional and breakfast-focused Mexican fare, making it a practical pitstop whether you’re grabbing an early meal or a filling lunch.

The atmosphere leans toward casual and comfortable—a place that feels familiar to locals who come for generous burritos, tacos, and plates, rather than elaborate ambiance or aesthetic. You’ll find fast service and friendly staff working to keep the lines moving, which suits the busy nature of this spot, especially on weekend mornings or during lunch hours.

Breakfast is a particular highlight here, with items like the chorizo and machaca breakfast burritos delivering savory, spice-forward profiles that appeal to those looking to start their day with something substantial. Likewise, the tacos al pastor and carne asada options are standouts, known for sizable portions that can easily satisfy a hungry diner. Many local patrons appreciate the salsa bar and especially the house-made marinated carrots for an extra punch of flavor to complement their plates.

La Paloma fits well into the local scene as a reliable choice for affordable, filling Mexican food with enough variety to please both breakfast and lunch crowds. The steady flow of residents passing through suggests it’s ideal for casual dining when you want genuine flavors without a wait that drags on. Weekday lunches and weekend mornings tend to bring out people who value quick service paired with solid, traditional dishes.

Whether you’re stopping in for quick carne asada tacos, a michelada with mini tacos in the afternoon, or a large breakfast burrito to get the day going, La Paloma serves as a dependable option for authentic Mexican comfort food in a relaxed, practical setting.

Like others have said. Food seems a bit pricey but portions are huge! Only have had burritos but they have been good/great. Bacon breakfast burrito was a bit bland definitely improved with salsa. Chorizo breakfast burrito is great and my wife and I share it when we are passing through.

If you’re hungry and love Mexican food in a hole in the wall style location, look no further than. The real deal… Great service and great value Lots of food in a simple package I had the chile relleno plate and it was great and filling!

Outstanding Shrimp burrito!! It was huge, spicy, delicious, filling and extremely tasty I continue to be totally impressed with this Mexican fast food restaurant. Taco Tuesday is incredible with three Carnitas tacos for five dollars. Al Pastor and chicken tacos are also available for the same price. The amount of food and the quality are the best I have experienced in the entire Coachella Valley. These tacos had plenty of meat, cilantro, and onions with some lime to make them taste even better. Each time I go, the tacos are just as meaty and wonderful as the time before. Go get some great food there!

These people are doing it for the right reasons in the right way. The thing to get is the large taco, which is a big portion, I’ve only tried the chicken and the shrimp tacos—so good! Also, ask for chips because they come out nice and hot. There’s a salsa bar, and the marinated carrots are tops. Five dollar lunch. Good people!

Ordered the special of a Michelada beer drink with 3 mini tacos, 2 Pollo Asada and 1 Carne Asada for under $17 and my wife got a Michelada with chicken, beef, and shrimp fajitas for $21. They also have a salsa bar with the most amazing hot carrots and salsa. The food was cooked within 10 minutes and was delicious. I think this was the best Mexican food within the whole valley! The atmosphere was good with a clean store, but just a basic Mexican shop seating, so only 4 stars.

When we ordered, we thought the food was a bit pricey but that changed when it came out. The food portions were large and delicious, so it was definitely worth the price. The only negative was the customer service. The girl behind the counter did not have the best customer service skills that may have contributed to the fact her shift was ending within 10 minutes of us ordering. The guy who took over for her was much better. Overall, it was good and We will be back!
